In Memory of our friend, Jim Holmwood

Jim Holmwood, one of the original Bills Backers in Boston, sadly passed away in December, 2003, from complications resulting from cancer. Jim was often seen pacing the floor of the bar with his famous wooden buffalo, drumming up good luck for his beloved Bills with his plea to "touch the buffalo" -- which more often than not had its intended effect.

Jim was instrumental in the founding of Cheers for Children, a terrific charitable organization that raises funds for several important Boston institutions. In Jim's memory, all of the Bills Backers charitable activities for the 2004 season will be dedicated to this worthy cause.

Jim Holmwood
1951-2003

Jim is credited with introducing Buffalo Wings to the Boston area in the 1970's at his family's restaurant chain, Paco's Tacos. Prior to coming to Boston, Jim worked as the road manager for jazz great Maynard Ferguson and was the former owner of Papagallo, a Buffalo jazz club. He was an avid baseball fan, and a long time player and manager in the Boston Men's Baseball League.

Jim touched many lives with his generosity, compassion and genuine friendship, and he will truly be missed.
